I just got the "Band on the Run" cd you recommend. From the first listening the clarity I am picking up things that I never heard before. Mrs. Vanderbilt sounds different and mamunia too. I'll take a more active listen tomorrow. It is quite a change one hearing in a different way then other versions.

Do you think that Paul McCartney "All the best" cd sounds better than Wings "Greatest Hits" cd? Trying to find the best sounding best of his

I was wondering there is bootleg of Wings "Greatest hits" DCC 24 Karat cd "Unreleased" do you know what source they used for that? Like the Wings "Wild Life" was the Fame Emi cd was the source for the bootleg of Wings "Wild Life" DCC 24 Karat cd "Unreleased"

Hi Rick. The original UK first pressing CD of Wings Greatest has the same tonality as the "DCC" Wings Greatest, but the waveforms look different and the timings are different. The Japanese black triangle version of the album has similar waveforms to the DCC, so it's possible that was the source, but I don't know for sure. But avoid the black triangle CD, as the treble is boosted too high. I like the sound of the DCC, but don't pay for it, as you can find it for free, circulating. Bottom line: the original UK CD sounds better to me than the US Capitol or the JPN black triangle. The 2018 remastering is overly compressed/limited and has a lower dynamic range than any of them. If that doesn't bother you, then it's a fine option. If it does, I'd recommend either the original UK CD or the DCC (again, don't pay for it!)

...Also, the original UK CD has a higher DR than the DCC.

WOW!!! What struck me so far is the background vocals of Tomorrow. It just opens up and the clarity is unbelievable! I always thought this was a low fidelity sounding album and thought that's just the way it was. Glad to be proven wrong this definitely my go to version. Keep up the recommendations!!!

Hi Rick. To my ears, the UK All the Best CD sounds better than the US All the Best CD. Keep in mind they have different tracklistings. It also sounds better than any of the Wings Greatest CDs I've heard, but I haven't finished doing comparisons of all the 8 versions of Wings Greatest that I have.

So glad you got it and that you're enjoying it. Content-wise, I love side 2 of Wings Wild Life, but I find side 1 to be a little draggy. I appreciate the encouragement. You are inspiring me to get up off my ass and finish the next one.

I prefer the original UK CD or the DCC. The CDP 7 46056 2 isn't bad, I just think the other 2 sound better.
